A Guide to Bath Time Essentials!

Our Guide on Baby Bath Time

One of the most memorable and special moments is giving your baby their first bath before coming home from the hospital. But often bathing these tiny toes can be a little nerve wracking, so we've compiled our list of essential bath time products as well as helpful tips to make bath time fun and easy.

What items do I need to bathe my baby?

1. Bath

Stokke Flexibath

Choose the Stokke Flexibath and stand, if you have limited space. The clever design means the stand and bath fold all-in-one and totally flat. A bonus for homes a little tight on storage space.

The Shnuggle bath is also a great option for a more upright bucket style bath, where your baby will sit upright. The inbuilt 'bum bump' and padded back rest, also prevents your little one from sliding down, giving you free hands to splish, splash and wash your baby.

Both of these bath options are quick to fill and easy to drain. Add a Thermometer to ensure the perfect temperature for your baby.

2. Bath Time Products

Dublin Herbalists

Baby skin is super delicate and sensitive, so its important not to use products containing any harsh chemicals. Our Organic Sophie La Girafe Bubble Bath  gently cleans and relaxes using all natural ingredients. For the ultimate baby spa experience, pamper your little one with a post bath massage, as well as it being super relaxing for baby, it's a great time to bond, and soothe their skin with a natural moisturising lotion such as the Dublin Herbalists or Organic Sophie La Girafe ranges.

3. Bath Time Toys

Done By Deer Bath Time Toy

Squeaky, squeezey, squidgy! Introducing bath time toys adds an element of  sensory play and a little fun into your baby's bath time routine. From Stokke Bath Time Cups, that rain, pour, and stack or Liewood Bath Toys that are BPA free and don't contain any holes to let mould build up from trapped water. There's even a bath friendly soft book from Done by Deer, where you can explore their 'Sea Friends' together.

4. After Bath

Wrap your baby up in a soft towel or bathrobe after bath time, to keep them warm and cosy. The Cam Cam Organic Hooded Towel, or the Liewood Organic Hooded Character Towels and Robes are ideal for absorbing moisture. The Leander Matty is also a great option for a portable changing area, made from PUR foam material the Matty is waterproof, antibacterial and maintains room temperature so as it's never too cold to the touch for your baby after or before their bath time.
