BabyBjorn, Baby Carrier One Cotton
A true BABYBJÖRN classic! With Baby Carrier One, you can carry facing-in, facing-out and on your back.
What’s special about Baby Carrier One?
What if you could enjoy the closeness of babywearing for longer — in a way that’s comfortable for both you and your little one? You can with our ergonomic Baby Carrier One crafted in a soft cotton blend. The sturdy waist belt and padded shoulder straps relieve pressure on your back and shoulders, and make babywearing possible from newborn and up to the age of three.
Do you mainly want to babywear in the early months? Then our Baby Carrier Mini may be perfect for you.
What’s the difference between Baby Carrier One and One Air?
These baby carriers share the same features but are made of different materials. Baby Carrier One Air is crafted in an airy 3D mesh and Baby Carrier One is made of a soft cotton blend. Both these materials are soft and flexible, but the cool 3D mesh is a better choice if you easily get hot or live in a warm climate.
Do you need additional back support and want to stay cool? Check out Baby Carrier Move.
Why should I choose a baby carrier in a cotton blend?
Thanks to the supreme softness and flexibility of our cotton blend, you can both see and feel that your baby is being carried in a natural position.
Does the baby carrier provide my baby with the correct support?
Yes, Baby Carrier One has inbuilt support for a newborn, and an adjustable head support that’s easy to adapt to your baby. It’s also classified as ‘hip-healthy’ by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, provided that it’s used according to the instructions. This means that it gives the correct support to your baby’s hips and encourages good hip joint development, which is especially important during the first months of life.
Do you want to be able to vary your babywearing position as your child grows?
Then Baby Carrier One is ideal! It has two different height positions that make babywearing possible from newborn and up to the age of three. With just a few simple adjustments, you can vary your carrying position from facing in to facing out on your front and carrying on your back.
Why are different babywearing options a good thing?
Your newborn baby needs a lot of closeness. At this age, it’s best to carry in the facing-in position to strengthen the bond between you; the warmth of your breath and the sound of your heartbeat are reassuring to your baby. At about the age of five months when your baby’s neck muscles are stronger, you can start carrying in the facing-out position — curious babies usually enjoy seeing what’s happening around them. When your baby is one year old, you can start carrying them on your back, which often feels more comfortable as your child grows heavier.
Did you know that our baby carriers have been developed in cooperation with experts?
We want you to feel safe and secure when you carry your child in a BABYBJÖRN baby carrier. That’s why all of our baby carriers have been developed in cooperation with medical specialists. Our baby carriers are simple to use and hold your child in an upright position that ensures free air passages, freedom of movement for their legs and arms, and good support for their neck and head.
Why should I choose a baby carrier from BABYBJÖRN?
Because we focus on you and your little one when we develop our baby carriers! This means that they’re safe, comfortable, and easy to use and adjust. They’re also machine washable and can be used for a long time; they have a minimalistic, Scandinavian design and are crafted in materials that feel soft and gentle against your baby’s skin and are safe to taste.

Ergonomic leg position
The wide, fully adjustable seat area ensures a comfortable and ergonomically correct position for your child’s hips.
Padded shoulder straps for superior carrying comfort
Luxuriously thick padding in the shoulder straps gives you superior carrying comfort.
Pressure-relieving waist belt
The wide, sturdy waist belt gives you excellent pressure relief and good carrying ergonomics.
Built-in infant insert
Baby Carrier One Air has two height positions. Use the upper height position for newborns (at least 8 lbs/3.5 kg) so your baby is carried in the correct position close to your face. Your baby should be close enough for you to kiss the top of their head.
Adjustable head support
The head support protects newborns and gives the correct support until they are able to hold their head up unaided. For older babies, you can also keep the head support unfolded when your baby is resting or sleeping in the baby carrier. You can easily fold it up or down and adjust the firmness of the support it provides.
Back carrying for your toddler
As your child grows heavier, back carrying in the baby carrier will be a more comfortable option for you. We recommend that you only start to carry your child on your back after the age of 12 months since you will not have the same degree of supervision.
Easy and safe back carrying
With your child sitting facing in, you can easily swivel the whole baby carrier from your front to your back. It’s comfortable and you can do it by yourself. The design of the baby carrier ensures that your child sits safely and securely while being moved to your back.
Hip-friendly baby carrier
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has tested Baby Carrier One Air and acknowledges it to be “hip-healthy”. This means that the baby carrier provides the correct support to your child’s hips and encourages good hip joint development, which is especially important in your child’s first months.
All our baby carriers are free from harmful substances and approved in accordance with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Class I for baby products.
